Balasore District:


Balasore is one of the coastal district of Orissa, extends on the northern most part of the Odisha state. Geographical area of the district is about 36, 34 Sqr. KM. Midnapore district of West Bengal in its North, the Bay of Bengal on the east and Bhadrak district on the South , Mayurbhanj and Kendujhar districts are on western side of this district. As per the 2001 Census, the population is 20,23,000 comprising 10,38,000 males and 9,85,000 females are living in this district.

This district is blessed with two important rivers of Odisha, namely, Budhabalanga and Subarnarekha have passed from west to east before falling into the Bay of Bengal.The widespread irrigation system and industrialization based on rubber, plastic, Paper and alloys are strengthening the back bone of the district.

This is one of the most important district of Orissa which finds place not only in the National map but also in International map for its History ,Geographical situation, Culture, Marine development and for important institutions like Proof and Experimental establishment, Interim Test Range.

Long stretches of green paddy fields, a wide network of rivers, blue hills, beautiful meadows, extraordinary breaches, Religious centers like Remuna ,Chandaneswar, Panchalingeswar, Sajanagarh, Ayodhya ,Maninageswar are collectively denoting Balasore as the “ Granary of Orissa “

Remuna: Remuna is 8 km from Balasore. It is famous for khirachora Gopinath Temple.

Chandipur: Chandipur is a popular sea beach in northen part of Orissa. It is 16 km from Balasore.

Panchalingeswar: Panchalingeswar is the seat of Lingam. It is 40 km from Balasore, a perennial spring flowing over them are the added attraction.

Chandaneswara: 88 km from Balasore is Chandaneswara temple.

Digha: Digha is a beach bordering West Bengal and Orissa.

Talsari: Talsari is a beach near Chandaneswara. It is 6 km from Digha.

Bhushandeswar: 100 Kms from Balasore this Shiva temple is located. Chandaneswar, Talsari, Digha are located with in 30Kms.
