Jagatsinghpur District:

Jagatsinghpur District is an administrative district of Odisha/Orissa, India. And Jagatsinghpur Town is the district headquarter.

The District famous with Glorious Cultural Heritage & Having Dominant contribution in Freedom fight, Social Reform by producing Scholars, who have excelled at different fields like Art, Culture, Literature, Science, Philosphy, Administration, Politics, Sports, Jounalism etc.
Jagatsinghpur is famous for the Sarala Temple and is termed as the cultural heart of Orissa. The district as a smallest in size among the 30 districts in Orissa has produced some of the most famous names in Oriya and Indian literature like : Kabi Sarala Das, Birakishore, Gopal Chhotaray, and Bibhuti Pattnaik etc.
Again the Paradip, a modern deepwater port, was built in the 1960s, and has now become a hot business point due to the largest foreign direct investment (FDI) in India as POSCO is setting up a plant along with its own port for transportation. Indian Oil Corporation has been trying to set up an oil refinery also.
Bad Luck for Jagatsinghpur was the super cyclone in October 1999 in which more than 10thousands of people died and the worst hit district in orissa coast .
The District is also famous for having the many number of successful theater groups ( Yatra Dala ) which has helped in keeping the old tradition of live acting before thousands of people.The theater groups have become the basic rural entertainment for people all over Orissa and India .

Jagatsinghpur: Jagatsingpur is the district head quarter and situated at a distance of 60 kms from Cuttack and 90 K.M.s from Bhubaneswar the State Capital.

Paradeep Port: 65 km from Jagatsingpur is the largest port of Orissa. One can see the Bay of Bengal with the operation of shipping and transport of goods from the port.

Jhankada: Where the temple of Sarala (Goddess Saraswati) is situated. It is at a distance of 15km from Jagatsinghpur town.
